Distributed Trust:
- One of KILT's main goals is to achieve Distributed Trust. To accomplish this, we need to divide the concept of trust into three parties: the Claimer, Attester, and Verifier. But what do these terms mean? We will answer all of that this week. πππ
What is a Claimer:
- A Claimer is an individual or entity that asserts a claim or statement about their identity or qualifications. The Claimer can use credentials to provide evidence of their claims, which can be verified by third-party entities or systems. πͺ
- Anyone can be a Claimer. They simply need to fill out a Ctype and create a Claim. Afterward, they can submit their claim to Attesters for attestation. ππ
- Claimers are a vital part of Self-Sovereign Identity. They have full control over their data and can decide which parts of their data they want to share, where to share it, and how to share it. π‘οΈπ
- Claimers also store their credentials in their wallets, allowing them to choose which credentials they want to provide to a service. πΌπΌ
- To be a Claimer, you don't need to create an on-chain DID. Claimers can use their account without the need for a chain connection. βοΈπ
With KILT's distributed trust you can start controlling your own data. Claim Independence! πβ¨
